I've got plans to open up my own store on some marketplace and sell dropshipping products. There's a ton of marketplaces out there now, and it's hard to tell where people are actually making decent profit. I'm thinking eBay or Amazon for that, or maybe Shopify if I just build my own store instead. Where's the best place to start selling?

Every one of those channels pulls in a completely different crowd, and that changes what actually turns into profit at the end of the month. eBay buyers hunt for the lowest price and compare five listings before they click, so margins get thin unless you're moving serious volume. Amazon brings huge traffic on its own, but sellers don't get much say since they're boxed into its rules and fee structure the whole time. A separate store hands over more control on pricing and branding, though it takes real time to build up traffic from scratch.

A lot of dropshippers pick a channel off gut feeling and only run the actual numbers once orders start coming in. That's usually when they realize eBay, Amazon, and Shopify each hit differently on fees and reach once dropshipping volume gets factored in. You can read up on the Amazon vs eBay vs Shopify dropshipping comparison here: https://easync.io/articles/selling-on-amazon-vs-ebay-vs-shopify/ . It breaks down the fee structure and competition level for each one side by side. Worth going through before locking in a channel since switching later means rebuilding listings and reviews from zero.
